Intestinal Lymphoma X Ray Signs Should I Do Chemo For My 17 Year Old Cat W/multicentric Lymphoma?

Should I do chemo for my 17 year old cat w/multicentric lymphoma? - intestinal lymphoma x ray signs

My cat is 17 and Ethan was diagnosed last week with the last phase of the liver, spleen and intestinal lymphoma. Steroid only he lived only 2 months. With chemotherapy, may you live 6-9 months. Not sure that I fell through it, although people say that cats do not seem to have many side effects. HELP.

It's really a question to the oncologist. Cats do not suffer side effects from chemotherapy than men, so do not let you be the judge. Based on what I read (is from an interview with Dr. Sara Fiocchi Board qualified veterinary) oncologists, only 5% (the cats usually experience gastrointestinal side effects) and those that are fixed in one or two days with a diets. So let the rumors shows you the way. If you can afford the treatment, and the quality of life of the time and then move on.

Personally, if one of my cats, I think the best thing would be what shelved. I am sure you have many years of happiness and life was very good. However, 6 to 9 months, not knowing whether he really has pain or not ... Is it worth it? I do not know. I'm sorry for the situation that you yourself and eventually find the right decision for you. I thought I'd give you a few comments on what I do. I do not want my cat to go to through all sorts of pain, especially if you lived a long life, as it is.

Who is better for the cat, possibley live longer and suffer, or live with a shorter life, but without the possible side effects of chemotherapy. I want to do what is best for the happiness of cats. He lived a long life and earned his life as comfortable as possible to the end.

At 17, I say goodbye. It is already over.

I have a cat with kidney failure 15 years ago. she is now fine, but when you get sick, then I have to sleep.
I'm not the treatment of kidney disease, because all he can do is an IV three times a week. When I terribly his 14 1 / 2 years and abused calmed only until a year ago. spent 14 years avoiding the too.

I would rather die happy, and then spent his last days of treatment, you are frightened.

Unfortunately, no ... very bad situation, sorry. It is very expensive, very painful, and no guarantee that really work ... And for that amount from what is real, that veterans. Money. In fact, it would be too heavy for your favorite animal and you will forgive me, but a little selfish. Although it is very difficult to satisfy the art of parting from their relatives ethane. Once again, I'm sorry.

It's really up to you. What I hate worse? For him to lose, quickly, but know relatively little pain, or having another year with him, but that it was unhappy?

This is obviously not the only possible outcome, but it's the extremes, the picture help make your decision.

I personally believe that if it would be difficult to sleep in order to. Among his appointment to appointment, only more stress and anxiety and side effects of treatment. I think 17 years is a good career prospects for their kittens. I wish him all the best.
